Elizabeth, known as Eliza, was born on September 20th, 1849. Eliza's father was Samuel Garrison and her mother was Elizabeth M. Springer. Her maternal grandparents were Andrew Springer and Elizabeth Hannah Courter. She had six brothers and nine sisters, named Andrew, Simeon, Samuel, Isaac, John, Charles, Sarah, Caroline, Harriet, Margaret, Gertrude, Emily, Frances, Charlotte and Nancy. She was the eighth oldest of the sixteen children. She died at the age of 75 in 1924.
