Samuel was born on October 29th, 1885. Samuel's father was Michael Powers and his mother was Caroline Garrison. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Garrison and Elizabeth M. Springer. He had three brothers named John, Michael and William. He was the third oldest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Joel, Hartford, Frank, Gertrude and May. He died at the age of 78 on June 7th, 1964.
