Clarence was born on March 18th, 1895. Clarence's father was Andrew DeGroat and his mother was Emma F. Sigler (DeGroat). His paternal grandparents were John DeGroat and Margurette Perry (DeGroat). He had seven brothers and a sister, named Daniel, William, James, John, Judine / Judson ?, Stanley, Paul and Minnie. He was the seventh oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 77 in April 1972.
