Deceased Name: Ralph C. Huttick
Ralph C. Huttick, 72, who founded a Philadelphia trucking firm, died Monday at the Northern Division of Albert Einstein Medical Center. He lived in the Olney area.
He founded a hauling business at age 20, operating it from his home until 1947, when he moved to quarters at 4600 Rising Sun Ave. He sold the business two years ago.
He was also known for his 50-year association with the Maine Christmas Tree Dealers Association. He worked in the cutting of Canadian Christmas trees and did a wholesale and retail business in the trees.
Active in civic and community affairs, he was past president of the Lindley Businessmen's Association and was a member of the Olney Community Council, the Motor Carriers Service Bureau and the Big 4 Fathers Association of Olney High School.
Survivors: wife, Eunice; son, Ralph Jr.; six grandchildren, and three sisters.
Services: viewing, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Wetzel & Son Funeral Home, 6902 Rising Sun Ave.; funeral, 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Ralph C. Huttick, who founded his own hauling business at the age of 20, died Monday. He was 72 and lived in the Olney section of Philadelphia.
Huttick sold the business two years ago. He also was involved in the wholesale and retail sale of Christmas trees and was associated for 50 years with the Maine Christmas Tree Dealers' Association.
He was active in civic and community affairs and was a past president of the Lindley Businessmen's Association. He also was a member of the Olney Community Council and belonged to a fathers' association at Olney High School.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eunice Byers; a son, Ralph Jr.; three sisters; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wetzel & Son Funeral Home, Rising Sun Avenue near Longshore Avenue, where there will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Ramona and Adams avenues.
